Jason Fond - Combining Two Passions
Jason Fond began his medical training in 1991 when he enrolled in the Albert Einstein School of Medicine,
but his medical aspirations truly began when he was a teenager. When he
was still in high school, he sustained a serious back injury that
required him to undergo spinal fusion surgery. This injury was sustained
during the course of a diving accident. Such an injury might have
proved discouraging for some people, but not for him. Indeed, not only
was his passion for sports undiminished, but he’d found a new one as
well: medicine.
After graduating from Tufts University, Jason Fond
was accepted into the Albert Einstein School of Medicine at Yeshiva
University. It was there that he began to realize his dream of combining
his twin passions of sports and medicine into a career.
After
receiving his M.D. in 1995, Jason Fond went onto attend two different
residency programs before finding employment at Advanced Orthopedics and
Sports Medicine where he worked to help injured athletes recover from
their injuries and get back onto the field.
In addition to his
career as an orthopedic surgeon, Jason Fond’s passion for sports shows
in other aspects of his life as well. Many of his pastimes involve
sports, such as golf or basketball, and he has served as a physician for
several sports teams at the high school, collegiate and professional
levels.
Jason Fond is one of those lucky individuals who has been able to combine two passions in order to build a successful career.
